Naturalis
Naturalis (Naturalis Life Technologies s.r.l.) is a specialist manufacturer of cosmetic and pharmaceutical ingredients based in Seregno, near Milan, Italy. Guided by the philosophy of "bridging nature and technology," the company transforms highly purified natural molecules and standardised plant extracts into technology-driven products for the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries.
At the heart of its portfolio is a proprietary Niosome technology (Ultra-Deformable Niosomes) — a skin delivery system designed to enhance penetration through the stratum corneum and improve the stability and bioavailability of active ingredients. Naturalis holds internationally recognised certifications including NATRUE, COSMOS (ECOCERT), HALAL, ISO 9001 (BUREAU VERITAS), and ECOVADIS, reflecting its commitment to quality and sustainability.
Naturalis operates within the Cefin s.r.l. group alongside its R&D and quality control affiliate Nextar s.r.l., which also provides analytical and testing services to around 200 cosmetic and chemical companies.
- 2012 — Naturalis founded; development and manufacturing of polyglycerol esters begins.
- 2013 — Launch of the Niosome series.
- 2014 — Launch of VegeMilk, Phyto-complex series, and liquid extracts; ISO 9001 certification obtained.
- 2015 — New factory built to expand Niosome production capacity; R&D and QC labs spun off as NEXTAR Srl.
- 2016 — Liquid extract manufacturing equipment introduced.
- 2017 — ISO 17025 certification obtained for the R&D and QC laboratories.
- 2021 — New 2,300 m² zero-CO₂ factory established.
- 2022 — ECOVADIS certification obtained.
- 2023 — NATRUE certification obtained.
- 2025 — HALAL certification obtained.
